Francis Henry STRIEBY (Joseph Clarence, Henry Jacob, Jonas, Jacob, Jacob, Hans Michael) was born in 1903 in Spring Gap, West Virginia.

Francis was born in a farm home called "Henrydale" near Spring Gap, West Virginia. He lived with his family in Akron, Ohio pror to and after World War I, 1916-1920. He attended College State Normal school at Shepherdstown, west Virginia and Randolph-Macon Academy, Fort Royal, Virginia, graduating in 1923. He attended asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky, 1923-27. receiving an A. B. degree. he attended Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, 1927-29, receiving a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1929. He entered the Methodist ministry in 1927 while attending college. His first ministry was the Herrington and Oxford churches in the kentucky conference. He served four churches in the Baltimore conference, 1929-41, and eight churches in the Virginia conference, 1941-68. At the Del Ray Church, Alexander, Virginia, he had charge of raising money for a new church. The building was started march 1951 and finished in May 1952. He led the congregation, during the six years he served there, in raising $116,000 for the building fund, and an increase of 408 members in the church.

Mrs. Strieby graduated from the Collingswood High School, Collingswood, New Jersey in 1923. She attended Asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky, graduating with an A. B. degree in 1927. She has assisted her husband in many church activities. She served as District Secretary of Spiritual Life, and Secretary of Missionary Education in the W. S. C. S. She held offices in womens clubs and American Association of University Women.

Francis married Jane Hillman COFFEE, daughter of Eugene Marcellus COFFEE and Mary Jane NICKELSON, on 1 JUN 1927 in Wilmore, Kentucky. Jane was born on 1 APR 1906 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

They had the following children:

  M ii Francis Henry STRIEBY was born on 21 FEB 1935 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He died on 14 DEC 1941 in Richmond, Virginia.
