Maurice Edward STRIEBY (William, Michael Epaphroditus Christopher Harper, Michael Hans Michael) was born on 2 MAY 1893 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He died in JAN 1975 in Millburn, Essex Co, New Jersey.

Maurice Edward Strieby, son of William and Anna (Breath) Strieby, married Frances Helen Adams, In 1914 he graduated from Colorado College with an A. B. degree with majors in mathematics and physics. After two years of graduate work he received a B. S. degree in Electrical Engineering from both M. I. T. and Harvard in 1916. He was employed by the New York Telephone Co. in New York in 1916. During World War I (1917-1918) he was Captain, Signal Corp., 78th Division at St. Mihiel and Argonne fronts in France. After the war he transferred to A. T. & T. Co. development and research department working on long distance facilities. In 1929 he transferred to Bell Telephone Laboratories to undertake development of systems employing coaxial cables for the transmission of large numbers of telephone circuits or for television. He transferred back to A. T. & T. in 1940 to aid in planning extensive systems of coaxial cables across the country. During World War II (1942-1943) he was consultant to Secretary of War Stimson to aid in improving communications for all services, most important job to plan and implement a world wide radia teletype network. After World War II he was given a staff assignment promoting the use of microwave radio, undersea cables, as well as over 100 radio and TV programs. In 1947 he received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Colorado College. In 1947 he was awarded a Presidential Certificate of Merit from President Truman. In 1967 he was listed in "American Men of Science" and "Who's Who in Engineering". Mrs. Strieby graduated from Colorado College with an A. B. degree in 1914, a phi BK, and president of the junior class. In 1967 Mr. and Mrs. Strieby were living in Millburn, New Jersey. Maurice married Frances Helen ADAMS on 23 MAR 1918 in Brooklyn, New York. Frances was born on 10 JUL 1892.

They had the following children:
