Aaron Lewis STRIEBY (Joseph, Jacob, Jacob, Hans Michael) was born on 2 FEB 1846 in Loyalsock Twp, Lycoming Co, Pennsylvania. He died on 3 MAY 1892 in Lycoming Co, Pennsylvania and was buried in Williamsport Cemetery C, Washington Blvd., Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Aaron was educated in the common schools and devoted his life principally to farming. He operated a tannery on Loyalsock creek for about five years, and conducted a dairy in connection with his farm. He was a Democrat in politics, a school director, and a secretary of the school oard for two years before his death. He often led singing school in the school house in the evenings using a tuning fork to start the songs. He and his family were members of the Montoursville Lutheran church, of which he had been an elder and deacon.

After the death of her husband, Mrs. Strieby moved with her children to Stanwood, Iowa in October of 1895. Bereft of the support due to wifehood and motherhood, she became a practical nurse; giving loving care through the lonely hours of the night and thus save many a mother and babe for the home. She was a wonderful neighbor,, sharing whatever she had, a few flowers, vegetables, freshly baked cookies, or a piece of cake. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church.

Aaron married Jo Ann SEDAM, daughter of Samuel Tate SEDAM and Lydia Ann PIATT, on 3 MAR 1870 in Pennsylvania. Jo was born on 13 JUL 1849 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. She died on 1 MAY 1936 in Stanwood, Cedar Co, Iowa and was buried in Stanwood Cemetery, Stanwood, Cedar Co, Iowa.

She died on 13 AUG 1927 in Stanwood, Cedar Co, Iowa and was buried in Stanwood Cemetery, Stanwood, Cedar Co, Iowa. Helen Frances graduated from the Stanwood high school in 1907. She was an assistant postmaster in Stanwood for eighteen years before she retired from the post office in 1925. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church and the Easter Star. Helen never married.
