John STRIEBY (Michael, John, Hans Michael) was born on 28 JAN 1824 in Ohio. He died on 22 OCT 1893 in Kosciusko Co, Indiana.

John Strieby, son of Michael and Catherine (Mock) Strieby, married Lovina Wogoman, daughter of William and Elizabeth Wogoman. John may have had a marriage prior to Lovina as a John Strieby, age 29, and wife Emma age 20 is found in the 1870 census of Kosciusko Co, Indianna. They are shown to have a son Delbert, age 5 months. John's marriage date to Lovina is not known but her Bible record shows names and dates of her four children. The two boys died in infancy, so she determined to name the next one either Adam or Eve. Two more came much later and lived so she had both Adam and Eve. Her death occured between the 1870 census date and John's marriage to Mary., January 8, 1873. John, age 57, is shown in the 1880 census with Adam F, age 18, and a boy unamed age 4 (Commodore Perry). Mary E, age 29, b. Ohio, is shown in a separate household with Charles, age 6, and Clara A, age 3. This couple evidently were living together again later in 1880 since the birth of Ulysses Grant is recorded in the Bible for this year and a daughter in the county vital records two years later. Mary Ellen Wilt Strieby's marriage to Elijah Evans is recorded on April 2, 1891 so she and John were probably divorced. A daughter of Clara Alice Jarrett does not remember her grandmother but said she thought there were also twins in the family who were raised by a family not related.

John married (1) Lovina WOGOMAN, daughter of William WOGOMAN and Elizabeth, about 1848. Lovina was born on 10 OCT 1829 in Ohio. She died after 1870 in Kosciusko Co, Indiana.

They had the following children:

	M	ii	Emanuel STRIEBY was born on 19 MAY 1851 in Kosciusko Co, Indiana. He died at infancy.

	M	iv	Adam F STRIEBY was born on 16 FEB 1863 in Kosciusko Co, Indiana. He died on 11 MAR 1939. Adam never married.

John also married (2) Mary Ellen WILT on 8 JAN 1873.

They had the following children:

	F	ix	STRIEBY was born on 11 JUN 1882 in Kosciusko Co, Indiana. No other records have been found for John and Mary's youngest daughter.
